SMART Tags: use Logos in MS Word!

Looking up Bible texts is a thing of the past with Logos SMART tags! You type a Bible reference in Word, e.g. Gal. 3:1, and without leaving Word you can import the text of that verse from Logos. But that's not all ...

When you type a Bible reference in Word document, Logos Smart Tags recognizes that reference and gives you four options. You can then:

  • replace the reference with the text of the Bible verse;
  • Open the relevant text in your preferred translation in Logos;
  • Open 'Copy Bible Verses' for more copy options;
  • open a Passage Guide in Logos for the appropriate Bible reference.

How do you install Logos Smart Tags?

Installing Logos Smart Tags is a bit technical, but not too difficult, if you follow the steps below:

  1. Check the system requirements: Windows and 64-bit Office 2010 or higher.
  2. Download the 64-bit Logos Smart Tags dll and with the save it in the folder: C:\YOURNAME, and C:\YourNAME, and C:\YourNAME, and C:\YourNAME, and C:\YourNAME. If you can't find this folder, you should briefly enable 'show hidden and system files' (don't forget to disable them again afterwards).
  3. Open the Command Prompt and run the following command:
    regsvr32 "%LOCALAPPDATA%LOCALAPPDATA%LOCALAPPDATA1TLOCALAPPDATA1TLOCALAPPDATA1TLOCALAPPDATA1TLOCALAPPDATA1TLOCALAPPDATA1TLOCALAPPDATA1TLAPPDATA1TG64.dll"

Now you have to tell MS Office that you want to use Logos Smart Tags. To do this, you do the following:

  1. Go to File (File) and then to Options (Options).
  2. Select Add-ons (Add-ins).
  3. Go to Manage (Manage) (at the bottom of the screen).
  4. Select Actions (Actions).

In the window that now appears:
